Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America Seek to End Abstinence Education Nationwide — Planned Parenthood Affiliates and NARAL Pro-Choice America are working at the state and federal level to end abstinence education and replace it with comprehensive sex education. Both organizations sponsor www.nomoremoney.org, which attempts to make the case for eliminating all federal funding for abstinence education, despite preferences for abstinence education in local communities. Further, they have been successful in convincing 17 Governors to reject Title V Abstinence Education Grants that would provide funding for abstinence education in each of the 50 states. They have targeted liberal governors and provided them with inaccurate information, while employing scare tactics that convince governors to say “no thanks” to abstinence education. In so doing, they have censored the healthy message and skills that youth deserve.
